As F1 commisioner....Quite a day to report on this. We can only hope the rumour is true. Only Max could keep the rabble in place, JT wants to travel around and be treated well with his movie star companion. He doesn't want to wade into the day to day. MM is his best choice. The paddock is coiling.....
JV at the Olympics
Although, still without a drive in F1, Jacques Villeneuve did appear at the Vancouver Olympics opening ceremonies carrying the Olympic flag with fellow 'great Canadians', which included actor Donald Sutherland and hockey legend Bobby Orr. At least Canada still cares about JV, so perhaps the F1 world will come around too, again, and have him back soon!
Button and Hamilton
What a shocker this week, with Macca snatching Jenson away from Brawn, who are quite upset, at themselves likely for letting it happen. With Hamilton this new dynamic duo will set the F1 marketing pace for the next few seasons and perhaps bag a championship or two as well. Brawn now Mercedes has a lot of work to do now, plus Mclaren will wear the coveted number 1 again next year all season long.

FOTA admits 2010 still uncertain
Nick Fry, of the alliance of non-committal team principals and wanna-be billionaires now admits, or states, the news that the FiA chosen teams for 2010 may not run in the FOTA world, and some of the other squads, likely more FOTA friendly, may replace, not to mention Force India and Williams, who, presumeably will now have to beg to be let back into the FOTA, as well. No wonder Max is keeping his options open.
Diffuser's are Go!!
With the stewards approving the new diffuser design, no surprisae that Brawn, Williams, and Toyota lead the field after the first day of practice in Melbourne. A thorny issue that will drag on for some time even if Toyota, Williams and Brawn in all lilelihood do not have the expereince to actually pull off a win in full race trim, yet time will tell. As it always does, F1 2009 promise to be an exciting season. More from CBC
MTV, Force India
In a make or break year, despite a rumored GP for 2011, Force India and the ex-Eddie Jordan dustbin team need to show up this year and deliver results. This MTV hook-up looks like the last thing they need, yet time will tell, and then always remember you heard it here first. Rock on, VJ, rock on!
Zuts Alors...
Yes, the Canadian GP, with its gov't whining and petition campaign ad nauseum has begun once more. What this country needs is a spirited entrepreneur to say, hey lets look at a new venue if we want to keep the race and let the past be just that. Toronto, Vancouver? Even Montreal, it's not about the city, it's the track... Sheesh, F1 fans, for the pinnacle of motorsport, never cease to amaze me how annoying they can be. All this hot on the heels on Hamilton's penalty for an illegal pass that had half the world up in arms. Hello, wake up, smell the coffee that we can't stand not to have constantly in our hands!! The rest of the planet is becoming more modern than us and if we don't catch up we will get left behind. The Habs got a new Forum, how 'bout F1??
Lights, camera, action...
The first Singapore GP, certainly looks better under the lights, without which would reveal a very bland and superficial track with an equally enthusiastic and knowing crowd. The real story of this race is going to be concentration and who can find the robot rhythm needed to take the chequer while the others fall asleep and trip over themselves. The sideshows seem interesting and there's always tasty food to be had, welcome to F1 2008.....

Another Boring France
Good for Ferrari, and Trulli in the Toyota, also avenging his 2005 sacking, in a deliciously boring race. Joined paddocktalk as well. Loads of yanks mostly, though there's a small f1 group. Check it out
The Beeb is back...
Thankfully, and perhaps even Murray Walker, after these many years of the nauseating James Allen and his irreleveant analogies and lowest common denominator appeal. Hopefully, Brundle will mover over and James will return to his passion of women's field hockey and sheep-milking rodeos.
