Nice to see for Renault too that they have not lost motivation over the year and gave Alonso the ride he needs to get back to where he belongs. Thanked by teamate Piquet's spin and the safety car, like Rosberg who proved even with his penalty that the mid-field has gained alot of speed these past few races while the leaders, like lucky Hamilton in 3rd are at a stasis with one another, not unlike an endless you may have the honor slow dance merry go-round of misses spiraling ever closer to the cup putting affair, rather than anyone stepping up and taking the bull (vettel) by the horns (alonso) to make the championship theirs. Nice drive by DC who if he even had the sniff that Massa, Raikkonen, Kovi? and even Hamilton have/had would be driving the wheels off like he was today. A couple of bad moments aside (like poor Massa, his refueler and Kimi, in the wall) and he'd have been on the podium instead of Lewis, nice shout-out on the podium aside, equaling out the cheeky sucker punch on Rosberg in parc-ferme. Is there not an FIA directive about hitting below the belt, especially in parce ferme conditions? Must research....any bloggers out there without anything better to do....
Japan in a fortnight should be equally exciting if not so elegantly lit. Some like a surprising slow teamate and a couple of others were very magnetic under the even Hollywood glow, whilst others, quite a few others, will be reviewing the video and consulting make-up artists. If not as well, that is probably typhoon season in the land of the rising sun and long shadows.
A large shadow passed also this weekend in Paul Newman, linked with Lights and Cameras and auto-racing, mostly Amercian style, yet whose team did bring Nigel Mansell over after his F1 champion year and also groomed Bourdais to a few championships and back into flavour with the formula one drivers do not wear glasses fraternity. Much sadness in all communities for the loss of an artist, entertainer, philanthropist, activist, and hard racer.
Then a befitting victory today/tonite in great memory over unknown consequences under the bright lights of the big city of Singapore, with cameras rolling, for Fernando Alonso and Renault. As Flavio, who always says it best, said on the radio, simply, "Bravo, bravo".
